Making a Difference

Do you know someone whose life has been changed by a personal encounter with Jesus Christ? Maybe He’s changed your life or the life of a loved one. If He has, you know that this encounter does make a difference.

Our desire is to introduce as many as we can to the person of Jesus Christ, so that they might experience His love and forgiveness.

Your prayers are the most important way to support us in this ministry. We are grateful for the dedicated prayer support we receive. We are also grateful for those that support us with contributions.

Cash gifts continue to be the main source of funding our ministry. These gifts, of all sizes, are made in faith that God will use them to change lives. And, praise His name, He is faithful.

Because we are devoted to helping people give wisely and effectively, we understand that effective giving means careful planning. It makes a difference to you and to us because your tax benefits and our ministries are affected by the way you plan your giving. What you give and how you give are important questions to answer. Therefore, to better understand how a Cash Gift may affect you and BARAKEL, let's begin by answering these questions.

   HOW Much Can I Give?

There is no limit to the amount you can give. Any amount is acceptable. We encourage you to consider your financial circumstances, but most importantly, to pray and be faithful to the amount you believe God directs.

  How Much Can I deduct?

Although there are no limits to the amount you can give, there are limits to the amount you may be able to deduct for tax purposes. These limits are high enough that they rarely affect your gift. Generally, however, cash gift deductions are limited to 50% of adjusted gross income and appreciated property gifts are limited to 30%. In both cases, any deduction that exceeds the limit can be carried over and used the next year. This carry over provision continues five years after the year of the gift (six years total). Tax issues should always be reviewed with your tax counsel.

Can My Gift Be Designated To A Certain Part of the Ministry?

Yes, you may designate your gift to any of our many ministries. Just indicate which ministry you would like to benefit. If your gift is not designated, it will be used where we believe it is most needed.

Could I Make A Gift As a Memorial For A Lost Love One?

Yes, your gift can be used to remember a lost loved one. This is a very wonderful way to show you remember them and share with them in spreading the gospel. Often these are larger gifts, but can be made in any amount

How Do I Know If A Cash Gift Is the Best Type of Gift for Me?

There are many methods of giving to support evangelism. Some gifts allow the ministry to benefit immediately and are fully tax deductible. In addition to cash, other items such as securities and real estate may be given. Other gifts benefit the ministry at your death, with you retaining the right to income or to control the asset during your life. Gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts provide favorable tax benefits in addition to your retained payments. Revocable trusts, wills and beneficiary designations are other methods of making your gift. You may want to review and discuss each of the options to see which fits your financial plans best. If we can assist you, please contact our representative. We would be happy to help in any way we can. Cash gifts are the simplest, produce generous deductions, and enable your gift to be used immediately in ministry.

The Decision Making Process........

What is the primary consideration in making a gift?

One consideration is the need to give a gift to support something you believe in. Giving a cash gift is an opportunity you can take to make a difference in accomplishing the work of God through this ministry. Do you desire to make a difference? Do the ministries of the Association connect with your goals of outreach? Would you be blessed to know that your gift enables others to come to know Christ? Do you want our ministries to benefit immediately from your gift?
